Metroid Prime

Metroid Prime is a 3D Metroidvania with exploration and first-person shooter mechanics, and the first 3D entry in the Metroid series. Following the events of Metroid (1986), Samus Aran boards a space pirate frigate and then chases her fugitive archrival Ridley into the intricately structured Tallon IV, a planet full of deadly wildlife and former home to the advanced and ancient Chozo race.

Story

After receiving a distress call from a space pirate frigate in orbit, bounty hunter Samus Aran boards the ship and discovers that the pirates have been conducting biological experiments there. When the frigate is destroyed, Samus pursues her arch-enemy Ridley all the way to the surface of the planet Tallon IV, where she discovers the remnants of the Chozo civilization and the source of a toxic substance called Phazon, which is destroying the planet’s ecosystem.
