Story

Set in the ruined subway of a post-apocalyptic Moscow, Metro 2033 is a story of intense underground survival where the fate of humanity is in your hands. In 2013, the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event that wiped out almost all of humanity and turned the Earth's surface into a toxic wasteland. A handful of survivors fled into the depths of Moscow's underground, and human civilization entered a new dark age. The year is 2033, and an entire generation has been born and raised underground, fighting for survival in the besieged metro stations - among themselves and with the mutated horrors that await them outside. You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised underground. You have never ventured beyond the confines of your Metro Station city, but a fateful event leads you on a desperate mission into the heart of the Metro system to warn the remnants of humanity of a terrible threat. Your journey takes you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wasteland above, where your actions will decide the fate of humanity.
