Men of War: Assault Squad

Men of War: Assault Squad

Assault Squad is primarily a real-time tactics game, but it goes more in the direction of strategy than its predecessors, since there are no scenarios with "fixed troops" (that is, without reinforcements). It is driven by a complex simulation that takes into account ammunition and fuel, supplies for each unit, cover and line of sight, armor combat with penetration and deflection of projectiles, field of view and much more. While Assault Squad is geared toward multiplayer, the new co-op mode, Skirmish, can be played offline without a partner. Like previous games in the series, Assault Squad features "direct control" that allows the player to take control of any unit on the field. This allows for fine control during firefights, such as detonating grenades before throwing them and targeting specific parts of a tank. The multiplayer uses the GameSpy client and has a built-in Elo rating system. Multiplayer matches can be played on dozens of maps and between the game's five factions. New multiplayer maps will be released as DLC.
