MechWarrior
"MechWarrior" is the first video game released in the "BattleTech" series. "MechWarrior" was the first video game to allow players to pilot a BattleMech from the perspective of a pilot (a MechWarrior). Compared to many of the subsequent MechWarrior games, this game gives players a high degree of freedom, including the ability to choose missions, buy and sell 'Mechs and parts, recruit lance mates, and travel throughout the Inner Sphere. In addition to the basic game mechanics, players had the opportunity to follow a role-playing-style storyline that unfolded over a period of five years (in-game time).
Story
The story is about a mech warrior named Gideon Braver Vandenburg. His family was murdered and the chalice that proves he is the heir to the throne of his planet Ander's Moon was stolen. Without the chalice, he is sent into exile. Gideon must assemble a force of mech warriors and battlemechs, find his family's murderers, and take revenge within five years or all will be lost. The story ends with the victory over the Dark Wing Mercenaries.
