Story

After much research, Major Natalia "Nat" Kerensky decides to locate her test facility in Dante City on the planet Dante, using the black market traders as cover. One evening, as Foster and the MechWarrior (player) return to their workshop, mysterious ships enter Dante's airspace and a Stiletto BattleMech lands on the ground and begins searching for them. They manage to escape the Stiletto and get back to the workshop, where Nat instructs the player to use a new armored suit called BattleArmor to stop the invaders. After that, hundreds of dropships invade Dante's atmosphere. Mysteriously, one of these ships is shot down by the others. After the battle at the crash site, a strange new MechWarrior named Alera appears, a space pirate with a jumpship named "Jezebel". Later, the MechWarrior escapes from an enemy port and steals an enemy tank from three soldiers to infiltrate the enemy. Then an allied APC comes out and follows the MechWarrior on its way. The tank has to go through two scans to advance in the level, but the "passenger scan" warns the enemies that it's a trick, and the MechWarrior and his allies have to escape from the port with the tank. After several confrontations with the enemy, it turns out that the attackers are trying to get their hands on the Lostech blueprints and prototypes stored in the data cores to create an unstoppable army of mechanized soldiers and gain dominance over the Inner Sphere, starting with the mass production of the Ragnarok prototype discovered in the first game. In the final mission, the MechWarrior, with the help of his allies, uses the BattleArmor to destroy a half-finished giant BattleMech that uses all five data cores.
