Mass Effect
"Mass Effect" is an action role-playing game set in the year 2183. The player takes on the role of Commander Shepard, a customizable character who serves as first officer aboard the SSV Normandy. After a routine mission goes awry, Shepard assembles a team and investigates a threat that escalates into a galaxy-wide conflict. The game features real-time squad-based combat, in which players select companions and tactics suited to various enemy types—from foes with biotic powers to heavily armored machines. The game spans a vast science fiction universe with explorable locations ranging from the “Citadel” space station to the homeworlds of alien races and remote outposts. Players’ decisions influence the outcome of missions, relationships within the crew, and the overarching storyline of the entire trilogy.
