It features various disciplines from the Winter Olympics, such as skiing, figure skating, and curling. As the title suggests, it's all about the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. The Wii Remote Plus, Wii U GamePad, or both are used for the various disciplines. Like the other games in the series, it offers realistic disciplines from the world of Mario and Sonic. As the game is exclusive to the Wii U, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games is the first game in the series that is not available for handheld consoles.
