In the not-too-distant future, the catastrophe of World War III ultimately led to world peace. But it did not last long. Earth was invaded by alien raiders—the Kretons. Earth’s combined forces, still weakened by the massive onslaught of World War III, were nowhere near sufficient to repel the Kretons’ numerous attacks.
