Left 4 Dead 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter video game and the sequel to Valve Corporation's Left 4 Dead. The game builds on the cooperative gameplay and Valve's own Source engine, which was also used in the original Left 4 Dead. Set in the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, Left 4 Dead 2 revolves around four new survivors battling hordes of infected who develop severe psychosis and exhibit zombie-like tendencies. The Survivors must fight their way through five campaigns punctuated by safe houses that serve as checkpoints to escape at the end of each campaign.
