Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts is an action role-playing game developed and published by Squaresoft for the PlayStation 2. It is the result of a collaboration between Square and The Walt Disney Company. The game combines characters and settings from Disney's animated movies with those from the Final Fantasy series, developed by Square. Kingdom Hearts departed from Square's standard role-playing games by introducing an extensive action-adventure element. It also had a high-profile cast that included many of the official voice actors for Disney characters. For longtime Square character designer Tetsuya Nomura, Kingdom Hearts was his first time directing. The game uses an experience-based progression system, where you gain experience by defeating enemies. The experience gained increases with the strength of the enemy and is the same for each enemy throughout the game. As you gain experience, your strength, defense, magic, hit points, magic points and ability points also increase, with a new predetermined ability unlocked about every four levels.

Story

When his world is destroyed and his friends mysteriously disappear, a boy named Sora is sent on a quest to find his missing friends and stop the armies of darkness from destroying many other worlds. During his search he meets many characters from classic Disney movies and a handful from the Final Fantasy video game series.
