Kero Blaster

Kero Blaster

Kero Blaster is a platform video game developed by Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya. Released in 2014 for PC and iOS, it is Pixel's first major project since Cave Story in 2004. The game places a heavy emphasis on gunfights and received positive reviews on both platforms. A short, free demo titled Pink Hour was available a month before the full game was released. In Kero Blaster, the player controls a frog who works for Cat & Frog, a teleportation company. Armed with a pea gun, he must clear the teleporters of strange black monsters. The player must work his way through a series of linear stages by running, shooting and jumping. USGamer describes the gameplay as "similar to ... Contra or the old Castlevanias before Symphony of the Night." In addition, the game is controlled by changing direction, jumping, firing the weapon and switching weapons. If you hold down the fire button, you'll continue shooting in the direction you were shooting at the start.
