Story

A lawyer performs a miracle, but the verdict costs him everything. Now, as a series of murders terrifies the city and the law begins to fail, justice cannot afford to be blind. The son of a murdered lawyer, Takayuki Yagami was raised on the streets of Kamurocho by a yakuza patriarch who paved the way for Yagami to follow in his real father's footsteps. When he takes a job at the Genda Law Firm, he is assigned to a high-profile case: proving the innocence of Shinpei Okubo, a man suspected of murder. Against all odds, Yagami succeeds and is hailed as a hero, but his successful career is short-lived. Just a few months later, Okubo brutally murders his girlfriend, stabbing her ten times with a kitchen knife before setting her apartment on fire. Yagami becomes the lawyer who let a murderer go - and everything he had worked for comes crashing down. Three years later, Yagami has shed his lawyer badge and is running a small detective agency in the red-light district of Kamurocho, where he ekes out a living doing odd jobs and collecting evidence. But even such a seedy town is rocked by a series of serial murders in which the victims' bodies are found with their eyes gouged out. Yagami is drawn into the case by his old law firm, where he discovers he must seek the truth that slipped away three years ago to bring the killer to light. But can a man haunted by his mistakes triumph over his own past?
