Jetpack

Jetpack

Jetpack is a platform game available as freeware that was originally released as shareware by Software Creations in 1993. The aim of the levels is to collect all the green emeralds scattered around the level while avoiding obstacles and enemies. Once you've done this, a door will open and you'll have to go through it to get to the next level. There is a single player and a local multiplayer mode. The multiplayer mode supports up to eight players who take turns playing on one computer. Players are supported in their quest by a jetpack and a phase shifter, which they can use to tunnel through certain walls. In the environments, which normally consist of brick labyrinths, there are also vines, gold, ladders, ice, crates, pillars and conveyor belts. Other obstacles include jagged rocks, force fields, teleport pads and indestructible bricks. To keep his jetpack running, the player must collect fuel, in the form of single/double tanks or fuel grids. The game includes a simple level editor. Numerous levels have already been published on the Adept Software website. The registered game offers 100 pre-made levels. The developers have also published a hint book containing screenshots and a short guide for each level.
