Inspector Gadget: Gadget's Crazy Maze isn't the kind of game you'd expect when you take on the role of the bumbling, multi-functional detective from the 1980s cartoon. Rather than an action title like its Game Boy Color counterpart, this version of Inspector Gadget is best described as a puzzle game with limited action elements. The story of Gadget's Crazy Maze is that Inspector Gadget's mysterious nemesis is up to mischief once again. This time, MADD ringleader Dr. Claw has created mind-control crystals on his secret moon base and then dropped them on Earth. When the crystals rest for a short time, they are activated and take control of the consciousness of the entire world. To make sure no one disturbs them, Dr. Claw has distributed them in four different areas and deployed his villainous henchmen to protect them.
