Story
Injustice: Gods Among Us is set in an alternate reality. The Joker has tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane and the couple's unborn son, destroying Metropolis in the process. Overcome with grief and rage, Superman takes revenge on the Joker, killing him in cold blood in front of Batman. Despite facing his tormentor, Superman cannot overcome the guilt for what the Joker made him do. He quickly takes control of various nations on the planet and, as Supreme Council, establishes a new world order to bring about "world peace." Earth's heroes are given the choice of joining Superman's regime or allying with Batman's insurgents. A war between the forces ensues that will threaten the survival of mankind. Development
