Story
In a luxurious hotel room in Rome, freshly arrived from Turin, Carlo awaits the arrival of his lover Patrick. But as the shadow of fascism looms ever larger, the tension of constantly being in hiding takes its toll. Lady Winterbourne has lost her husband in a tragic accident. Now letters from suitors for her vast fortune arrive daily at her manor house, but the only thing that interests her is the bottle of laudanum in her cupboard. Dr. Jordan Samuels, bullied, ridiculed and belittled by his colleagues, has turned to the occult sciences in a desperate attempt to turn the tables on his tormentors. But is he really ready to face the Guardian of the Threshold?
