Honkai Impact 3rd

Story

"Honkai Impact 3rd" is set in an alternate version of Earth ravaged by catastrophes caused by "Honkai" (which roughly translates to "the collapse"). Honkai is widely regarded as a malevolent force with a will of its own, which can transform humans into undead creatures, manifest itself in the form of various monsters, and select certain individuals known as “Rulers” to grant them god-like powers with which they can trigger apocalyptic events. Honkai is a cyclical phenomenon that returns each time to destroy civilization on Earth as soon as it has advanced too far—the Previous Era ended 50,000 years before the game begins, after the 14th Ruler had defeated humanity. In the present day, there are various global factions seeking to combat or exploit the power of the Honkai. These include “Fate,” a Europe-based peace organization that deploys human female warriors, known as Valkyries, to fight the Honkai; “Anti-Entropy,” formerly the North American branch of Fate, which rejected the use of human soldiers and instead relied on mechanized robots; as well as “World Serpent,” a shadow organization that has been manipulating events since the end of the Previous Era. Before the story begins, three Ruler Awakenings (or “Impacts”) have occurred in the current era: the Ruler of Reason, who became the leader of Anti-Entropy; the Ruler of the Void, who was locked away by Fate under mysterious circumstances, and the Ruler of Lightning, who was prevented from fully awakening and sent to Fate’s St. Freya School to train her powers as a Valkyrie. The storyline of Honkai Impact 3rd spans multiple complementary media, including an anime series, several manhua series, and promotional videos.
