Hollowbody
A tech-noir survival horror short story set in the urban decay of a long-abandoned British city. This is a shipper's greatest fear. You find yourself in the exclusion zone, twenty miles of death and decay, sealed off by the towering, suffocating walls erected after the collapse. You play Mica, an unlicensed black market shipper who will leave no stone unturned to find her missing partner. Alone, stranded and with limited resources, you must make your way through the zone, solving environmental puzzles, managing resources and fighting for your life as you try to find a way to escape over the wall.
Story
It's been 12 days since Sascha left. You talked about it, argued about it and even laughed about it. Anyone in their right mind knew it was a death wish to go there, a journey to a dead end. But Sasha wasn't so easily intimidated, she wanted answers and there was only one place where those answers were true. Her mind was already made up, you just didn't expect her to make it without you. Twelve sleepless nights later, you finally get the call. The tax office has found someone, a suit from the border patrol, who wants to earn a few extra points in a hurry. He can give you a two-hour window to fly into the Zone, find Sasha and get the hell out of there. You make your way through the restricted zone, but something is wrong. The satnav is going round in circles and you're losing altitude. Before you know it, a blinding white fills the sky. The dashboard goes dark and your hover drops out of the air like a lead balloon, crashing onto the cobbled streets below. You wake up to the acrid smell of an electrical fire and rain pattering on the cracked windshield. You are surrounded by the crumbling remains of the houses you once thought were your home. You have to find a way out. Call the evacuation, climb the walls. Something, anything. Survive.
