After selecting the region, style and enemies, the pilot is assigned a main mission and a secondary mission. These include objectives such as "Destroy enemy headquarters" or "Support friendly troops" (i.e. destroy targets close to your own troops). The latter would be an easier mission, since the battle is fought closer to your own ranks.
