Gran Turismo
"Gran Turismo" is a racing game developed by Kazunori Yamauchi and the first installment in the critically acclaimed racing simulator series of the same name. After five years in development, it was well-received by both the public and critics alike and had sold a total of 10.85 million copies worldwide as of March 2013, making it the best-selling PlayStation game. The game offers two different modes: Arcade Mode and Gran Turismo Mode. In Arcade Mode, players can freely choose the tracks and vehicles they want to use. Winning races unlocks additional cars and tracks. In Gran Turismo mode, however, players must earn various levels of driver’s licenses to qualify for events and earn credits, trophies, and prize cars by winning racing championships. Gran Turismo features 140 cars and 11 race tracks (as well as their reverse versions).
