Goddess of Victory: Nikke

Story

The Goddess of Victory: Nikke is set in a post-apocalyptic future where Earth has suddenly been attacked by unknown mechanical creatures called Raptures, destroying everything on the surface and forcing the remaining humans to flee underground and build the Ark, a metropolis ruled by the central government. The manufacturers Elysion, Missilis Industry and Tetra Line - owned by Ingrid, Syuen and Mustang respectively - who make up the Big Three, work to transform women and children into powerful, obedient soldiers called Nikkes, who are used as weapons to defeat the Raptures and restore humanity to the surface. Due to their prominence, the Big Three have a very high level of authority; however, they are closely monitored by the central government to prevent any hostile behavior. The story is played from the perspective of the Commander, who graduated from the military academy the day before the events of the game; despite this, he performs exceptionally on his missions and survives various encounters with rare Rapture species on his journey. He leads a squad called the Counters, which consists of the Nikkes Anis, Rapi and, later in the story, Neon. The Commander views Nikkes with sympathy and privately advocates for Nikke rights, which is illegal under Ark law. Outlaws can be sent to the Rehabilitation Center or to the Outer Rim, an area completely isolated from the rest of the Ark, and they have formed terrorist organizations that claim to fight for human rights.
