God Wars: Future Past

God Wars: Future Past

A tactical role-playing game that brings together Japan's oldest historical record book, Kojiki, and an ancient character everyone knows, Shaka, in a single adventure. It illustrates the lives of heroes who have left their mark and fight against nature while balancing these two aspects on their shoulders.

Story

"A long time ago, there was a beautiful land consisting of three peoples: Fuji, Izumo and Hyuga. This land was called Mizuho. The people of Mizuho avoided conflict, honored their ancestral spirits, and lived in harmony with nature. However, over time, they began to grow crops, forge and use metal, wage wars, destroy nature, and neglect their ancestor spirits. Meanwhile, natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions struck various places in Mizuho. In order to prevent a destructive volcanic eruption, the queen of Mizuho, Tsukuyomi, sacrificed her beloved daughter Sakuya to the mountain, locked her other daughter Kaguya in a bamboo seal in case of future disasters, and then disappeared. 13 years later, Princess Kaguya has grown into a beautiful woman and her childhood friend, Kintaro, rescues her during a riot. She rises up against her "fate of being a victim," and to make their own way, they both flee Fuji and travel through Mizuho to discover the truth behind Tsukuyomi's decision."
