God of War Ragnarök

God of War: Ragnarök is the ninth installment in the God of War series and the sequel to the 2018 game God of War. The game is set in Norse mythology and takes place in ancient Norway. The protagonists of the series are Kratos, the former Greek god of war, and his young son Atreus. The game is the prelude to the events of Ragnarok, where Kratos and Atreus must travel to each of the Nine Realms in search of answers to prepare for the prophesied battle that will end the world.

Story

The icy winds of Fimbulwinter have come to Midgard, making survival for Kratos, Atreus and Mimir in the Nordic wilderness even more difficult than before. While the last game built a tremendous amount of trust and understanding between father and son, there's still a lot of complexity in their interactions - especially after the revelation of Atreus' giant heritage and the hidden prophecy that only Kratos has seen. Atreus is desperately curious. Like most young people, he wants above all to understand who he is. In this case, he wants to understand who he might be. The mystery of Loki's role in the upcoming conflict is something Atreus can't let go of. He wants to protect his family, but Atreus also doesn't want to stand idly by while the conflict engulfs the Nine Realms. Kratos, still carrying the knowledge of his past mistakes, wants to spare Atreus the bloody lessons he learned in his conflict with the gods. Above all, he wants to protect his son, and the confrontation with Baldur has strengthened his conviction that further entanglements with the Aesir can only lead to tragedy. Together, Kratos and Atreus must make a decision as to which path they will take. Whatever they choose will determine the fate of all the inhabitants of the Nine Realms as Ragnarok approaches.
