God of War II

God of War II is an action-adventure hack-and-slash video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). It was originally released for the PlayStation 2 and is the second installment in the God of War series, the sixth in chronological order, and a sequel to the 2005 game God of War. The game is rooted in Greek mythology, set in Ancient Greece, and revolves around the theme of revenge. The protagonist, Kratos, is the new god of war after defeating the former Ares. However, Kratos is betrayed by Zeus, the king of the Olympian gods, who not only takes away his godhood but also kills him. Kratos is slowly dragged into the underworld and rescued by the Titaness Gaia, who leads him on a quest to find the Sisters of Destiny. These have the power to enable time travel, allowing Kratos to prevent his betrayal and ultimately take revenge on Zeus.

Story

Kratos, a brutally violent Greek soldier tormented by memories of his past, has ascended the throne as the new god of war and is a very angry and vengeful god. While leading a massacre in a city protected by Athena, Kratos is betrayed by his fellow gods and murdered by Zeus, who wields the legendary Blade of Olympus. As the arms of Hades prepare to take him to the underworld, the fallen god is rescued by the Titaness Gaia. Gaia gives Kratos new life and sends him on a mission to change his destiny, a task that no god or man has ever succeeded in. You'll play as Kraots and fight your way through innumerable hordes of monsters from Greek mythology to find the Temple of the Sisters of Destiny, find the Blade of Olympus that holds your divine power and take revenge on Zeus himself.
