Ghostbusters II

Ghostbusters II

The release of "Ghostbusters II" for DOS, based on the film of the same name.

Story

The Ghostbusters are back in this sequel, which is based on the second film in the series. It’s been five years since the Ghostbusters roasted the 30-story marshmallow monster over downtown Manhattan. The Ghostbusters sent the city a massive bill, and the city sent back an even bigger bill for the damage. Both filed for bankruptcy, and the now-retired Ghostbusters have moved on with their lives. Unbeknownst to the former Ghostbusters, a river of slime has accumulated beneath the city, feeding on the negative energy of New Yorkers. Meanwhile, a new resident has arrived at the art museum: a 300-year-old painting of Vigo the Carpathian and his immortal soul. It is waiting to escape and intends to use the approaching slime as an escape route. The game begins with the trial against the Ghostbusters, while escaped ghosts wreak havoc in the courtroom. A battle ensues, and the player must try to fog up the flying ghost in a side-scrolling environment while dodging the ectoplasm thrown by the ghost. Victory or defeat in this battle, as well as in future battles with ghosts, is summarized in a newspaper article at the end of the battle. After the battle in the courtroom, the main game begins in the Ghostbusters’ office. Here, you select various activities, such as: earning money by answering emergency calls to hunt ghosts, collecting slime from the sewers, testing slime (if it was successfully collected from the sewers), and checking the duty roster.
