FTL: Faster Than Light

FTL: Faster Than Light is a single-player, roguelike-style strategy game. The player controls a spaceship from a bird's-eye view, manages systems such as weapons, engines, shields, and life support systems, and simultaneously recruits crew members and upgrades the ship. The ship travels through procedurally generated sectors and jumps back and forth between beacons, where random events, shops, and encounters with enemies take place. Combat occurs in real time, though you have the option to pause the game and issue commands. Losing the ship or the crew ends the playthrough and requires you to start over, making each playthrough offer a different layout and different challenges.
