Frog Fractions

Frog Fractions

Frog Fractions is a 2012 browser game developed by Twinbeard Studios, a company that mainly consists of founder Jim Crawford. The game, released on October 25, 2012, is described as a parody of the edutainment game genre. In the game, at the beginning, the player controls a frog that eats bugs and defends fruits. Later, the player can spend points on upgrades to improve his frog's abilities. The game does not really teach the player about fractions; the player's score is given in fractions, but no knowledge of them is necessary to play.

Story

Frog Fractions starts with a frog sitting on a lily pad. The player controls the frog and must use its tongue to attack insects while collecting and protecting fruit. Later, there are upgrades the player can buy, such as a targeting device, a cybernetic brain, and a flying dragon. Once the player has collected enough fruit, he/she can purchase a warp drive that allows him/her to ride his/her dragon through an asteroid field to Bug Mars, where the player then fights an alien robot squid. The player is then sent to the Bug Court where he/she signs his/her work visa. The player then travels under the water below Bug Mars while listening to a narrated story about the origins of boxing. At the end of the maze, the player activates a spaceship and must complete a text adventure to return to Bug Mars, where the game appears to end (in reality, the credits are fake). Upon returning, the player runs for president in a music simulator. Regardless of how well he does, he manages to get elected president, and he must complete an economic simulator that produces bug porn to unlock more upgrades. Once all the required upgrades are collected, the game is over and lasts about an hour.
