Football Manager 2005

Football Manager 2005

Football Manager 2005 is a game from the Football Manager computer game series. It was developed by Sports Interactive and released on November 5, 2004, published by Sega. On February 12, 2004 it was announced that Sports Interactive, the producer of the Championship Manager game, had taken over the brand after splitting with publisher Eidos Interactive and would henceforth publish its games under the name "Football Manager", while the Championship Manager series would continue, but would no longer be associated with Sports Interactive. The game, commonly known as "FM 2005," competed directly with Championship Manager 5, the much-delayed and widely touted project from Eidos-funded Beautiful Game Studios. Football Manager 2005 included an updated user interface, a refined game engine, updated database and competition rules, pre- and post-match information, international player news, cup summaries, 2D clips of agents, squad coaching reports, a job center for non-player positions, mutual contract termination, improved player loan options, manager "mind games," and several other features. Football Manager 2005 was released in the UK on November 4, 2004 - closely followed by releases in many other countries around the world - and became the fifth best-selling PC game of all time (according to Eurogamer). The Macintosh version of the game is on the same dual-format disc as the PC version, so its sales are also included.
