Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII is a Japanese single-player role-playing game and the thirteenth main installment in the Final Fantasy series. Combat is based on a real-time variation of the series’ “Active Time Battle” system, in which the player controls a main character, while the Paradigm system allows the party to switch between combat roles such as attacker, healer, and support. Character development takes place via the “Crystarium,” a grid-based progression system that unlocks abilities and attribute bonuses. The game is set in the floating world of Cocoon and the wilderness of Gran Pulse, blending science fiction and fantasy elements with series staples such as summoned creatures and airships. It was followed by two sequels: Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
