Final Fantasy III

Final Fantasy III is the sixth main installment in the Final Fantasy series, developed and published by Square. It was the last title in the series to feature two-dimensional graphics and the first story not centered around crystals. The game offers players up to fourteen playable characters, the largest cast in the series, and features the Active Time Battle menu command system, which is pseudo-turn-based. A party can consist of up to four characters, although some events require the player to assemble three different parties of up to four characters and switch between them. Each character has a unique command ability, such as Terra's Trance, Locke's Steal, Edgar's Tools, or Sabin's Lightning, and can also learn spells by collecting AP through battles with Magicite. Each character's rare Desperation Attack is activated randomly when the "Attack" command is used while at critical health.

Story

In a remote village in Ur, four orphan boys were raised by the priest Topapa. One day, the Crystal of the Wind, which was guarded by the people of Ur, sank deep into the earth. The four boys decided to retrieve it from there and descended into an underground cave. But when they found the crystal, it spoke to them and from its words they understood that they were chosen for a much more important and world-encompassing mission....
