Evil simmers in a tropical paradise in Far Cry, a cleverly detailed action shooter that pushes the boundaries of combat to shocking levels.Freelance sailor Jack Carver curses the day he arrived on this island. A week ago, a brash reporter named Valerie had offered him an incredible sum of money to take her to this pristine paradise. Shortly after docking, however, Jack's boat was greeted by artillery fire from a mysterious militia prowling the island. His boat has been destroyed, his money is gone, and the beautiful Valerie has suddenly disappeared. Now Jack faces an army of mercenaries in the wilds of the island who give him nothing but a gun and his wits to survive. But the further he gets into the lush jungle, the stranger things get. Jack meets a militia insider who reveals to him the mercenaries' true intentions. He presents Jack with a disturbing choice: fight the deadliest mercenaries or doom humanity to the insidious plans of a madman.
