Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 is an open-world first-person shooter set in an unnamed African country. You take on the role of a mercenary who roams a vast landscape of desert, savanna, and jungle, completing missions for rival factions and allied characters, known as “buddies.” Missions can be approached either through direct assaults or stealth, and the game emphasizes systemic, reactive elements such as spreading fires, the wear and tear on collected weapons, and enemies that react to the player’s tactics. Survival mechanics play a major role, including recurring bouts of malaria that must be treated with medication, and companions who are permanently lost if not helped in time. A competitive multiplayer mode and a level editor are also included.
