Empire Earth
Epochs are the ages that a player goes through in Empire Earth. Each of these eras represents an age within history. In Empire Earth, the last two ages (Digital and Nano) are set in the mid-future. In the Art of Conquest, a third future age, the Space Age, is available. It deals with the colonization of space. Each epoch brings new technologies and units. Additional buildings must be built to advance to an epoch, and the cost of advancement increases as more epochs are reached, although the ability to gather the resources needed also increases greatly. With new epochs, some new units are available, but the ability to produce old units must be abandoned, although any old units that are still alive are preserved. The epochs in Empire Earth are the Prehistoric Age, the Stone Age, the Copper Age, the Bronze Age, the Dark Age, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Imperial Age, the Industrial Age, the World War I Atomic Age, the World War II Atomic Age, the Modern Atomic Age, the Digital Age, and the Nano Age. An additional epoch, the Space Age, is available in Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest.
