EarthBound Beginnings

EarthBound Beginnings

EarthBound Beginnings is the first installment of the EarthBound/Mother series. It was developed by Ape Inc, Nintendo Tokyo R&D Products and Pax Softnica and released by Nintendo on July 27, 1989 for the Famicom. Although it was officially translated into English in 1990 under the name EarthBound and included a number of updates and new contents, the planned release of the North American localization was eventually cancelled, since Nintendo of America stopped supporting the Nintendo Entertainment System. Nevertheless, the updates made for the English localization were included in the Japanese re-release of Mother 1+2 for the Game Boy Advance in 2003. The English version was finally released on the Wii U's Virtual Console on June 14, 2015, 25 years after its planned release date.

Story

EarthBound Beginnings follows young Ninten, who uses his great-grandfather's studies of psychic powers to fight hostile, formerly inanimate objects and other enemies. His adventure will lead him to new friends and eventually to the discovery of an extraterrestrial conspiracy that must be stopped.
