DropMix

DropMix is a music mixing game developed by Harmonix and published by Hasbro. The game consists of a mix of physical cards with chips equipped with near-field communication, a special electronic game board with NFC and Bluetooth capabilities, and a companion application for mobile devices (iOS or Android) that communicates with the board via Bluetooth. When you place a card representing a particular song on an appropriate space on the game board, the board recognizes the NFC code and passes it to the app, which then plays a sample from the song, such as a drum loop or a vocal part. With multiple cards on the board, the app manages how all the current songs are shuffled when played through the app, creating a mashup. The game has multiple game modes for single and multiplayer, and additional cards with more song samples can be purchased as booster packs.
