Story
Horror is, at its core, something primal. You don't need a multi-million dollar budget or sophisticated real-time bullet physics to make something scary. You just need an idea that's raw and the honesty to realize it. P.T. illustrates this point perfectly. It takes place entirely in a single hallway. It doesn't have complicated AI. There weren't a dozen characters to design and model. Heck, there weren't even that many scary stories. And it was absolutely terrifying. It condensed the concepts of the ill-fated Silent Hills into one dense moment of terror. It was its own compact experience and a glimpse of something much bigger. Many games have tried to imitate P.T. in terms of content. A million creepy hallways with a trillion collectible pieces of paper. Some of them are fantastic. But what about the concept? Distilling your dream project into something condensed, raw and real? That was the question posed to 10 brilliant creatives. Create a P.T. for the horror project of your dreams. It's both a standalone game and a window into a much larger world. Make it raw. Make it real. Make it a reflection of your own fears. Create it in just 7 days. And that's what they did. This is the Dread X Collection.
