Story

In each Dota 2 match, two teams of five players compete to occupy a fortified stronghold at one end of the map. Victory is achieved by destroying the opponent's Ancient, a building that is invulnerable until certain objectives are met. Each player controls a "hero" and focuses on leveling up, acquiring items and fighting the other team to achieve victory. The previous game has no connection to the next game. All heroes are playable, i.e. you do not have to "buy/unlock" heroes to play them. The game development team does its best to balance the heroes so that all heroes can be played in every match.
