Demonstar

Demonstar is an indie vertical scrolling shooter shareware computer game from 1997, developed by Mountain King Studios, Inc. and published by ionos, inc. in 1997. It was the first computer game in the DemonStar series, a top-down vertical scrolling shooter. The version also featured 3D parallax air and ground and was published by ionos, inc. The game has many similarities to the Raiden series. DemonStar offers various power-ups, including smart bombs and other power-ups that change the type of projectiles fired by the player's ship. The full version of the game has 18 levels. At the end of each level, a boss ship awaits, which the player must destroy. DemonStar was very successful as a shareware computer game, although Mountain King Studios originally released two additional titles in addition to the original game: DemonStar Secret Mission 1 and DemonStar Secret Mission 2.
