Demolition Man

Demolition Man

Demolition Man is a game based on the 1993 movie of the same name. Like the movie, the game is set in a dystopian Los Angeles in 1996, where John Spartan is the most fearsome police officer in the country and hunts his arch-nemesis, Simon Phoenix. However, in the process he kills several innocent civilians and both characters are sentenced to cryostasis rehabilitation, where they are brainwashed for 30 years. The brainwashing doesn't go as planned, however, and when Phoenix wakes up, he goes on a new manhunt. But in the 30 years, the world has also changed and Los Angeles has become San Angeles, a utopian and non-violent society. As a remnant of a more violent past, police officer John Spartan is sent out again to catch Phoenix. Demolition Man is a fast-paced platform game where some levels take place in an overhead perspective (similar to Smash TV). As John Spartan, the player spends most of his time shooting down endless waves of "Cryocons" that are unleashed on the antiseptic world of the future. The standard weapon can be upgraded with a shotgun and a magnum, both with limited ammo. Also, different types of grenades can be collected, which are thrown independently of the firearm. Simon Phoenix appears at the end of each level as the final boss, which is directly connected to the movie.
