Counter-Strike 2
Counter-Strike 2 is a free-to-play tactical multiplayer first-person shooter developed and published by Valve. The game was released in September 2023 and is the fifth main installment in the Counter-Strike series; it serves as the direct successor to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on Steam. Two teams—terrorists and counter-terrorists—compete against each other in objective-based rounds in modes such as bomb defusal and hostage rescue. Based on the Source 2 engine, the game introduced volumetric smoke physics, revamped weapon handling, and a new sub-tick server architecture. It has carried over all cosmetic items from its predecessor and offers both a map-specific competitive mode and a numerically ranked Premier mode.
