Countdown Vampires

Countdown Vampires

Because Capcom's Resident Evil virtually single-handedly invented the modern survival horror genre, this highly acclaimed adventure has spawned countless sequels and imitators. Countdown Vampires from Bandai Digital Entertainment is one such imitator—you control 3D characters through 2D backgrounds in a series of fixed camera angles, fending off unspeakable horrors. As a police officer, Keith J. Snyder was assigned to provide security at the opening of the Desert Moon, a horror-themed hotel and casino in Casino City. While he is monitoring security and making sure that nothing happens to the VIPs in the dance club, something goes wrong. A sudden fire triggers the sprinkler system, the water turns black, and transforms the dancers into murderous vampire monsters. In the role of the brave police detective, officer, and last living human, Snyder must unravel the mystery of the black water while defending himself against multiple monsters. Initially armed only with a stun gun, an electric shock glove, and an unlimited supply of vampire-killing white water, Keith J. Snyder finds and uses twelve weapons and items in the course of his adventure. The hotel casino also has computer terminals, maps of the surrounding area, and vending machines that sell useful items. At the computer terminals, he can access an email program that advances the plot. In Countdown Vampires, Snyder's physical health is represented by a color-based status indicator in the inventory screen: green means he is healthy, yellow stands for injuries, and red means Snyder is close to death. You can heal the character with various health items that can be found in the casino. In addition to your character's health, you must solve various puzzles and search for specific keys and cards for locked doors.
