The lonely Cardia, who lives in an abandoned mansion on the outskirts of London because of a promise her father made, is cut off from the world. Her body carries a deadly poison that rots or melts everything her skin touches, which is why the locals call her a "monster." She can't remember her last conversation with her father two years ago, when he told her to stay away and never fall in love.
