Chessmaster 5000
Chessmaster 5000, released as a 10th anniversary edition, has a new 32-bit engine, a Windows 95 interface with pop-up menus and support for long file names, and a database of over 27,000 games. It has more than ten new 2D and 3D chess games, over 20 tutorial courses by Eric Schiller, more than 60 opening books, 30 new computer personalities, and expanded time controls such as Fischer and sandglass modes. Improvements include a coach window, enhanced annotations with statistics, support for piece notation, and a glossary with over 1,600 terms. Players can compete against the AI locally or via Remote Play.
