Bucky O'Hare

This video game is based on the animated series "Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars," licensed by Hasbro, Inc. Although it is generally classified as a side-scrolling fighting game and features a game world reminiscent of "Final Fight," the player character is also armed with a laser gun, adding elements of a side-scrolling shooter. However, when the character is extremely close to an enemy, he attacks with his fists—a precursor to the characters from "Metal Slug," who use knives in close combat. Much like the animated series, “Bucky O’Hare” features vibrant animations, and the series’ voice actors were brought on board for the game’s cutscenes. The player chooses from five protagonists: Bucky O'Hare, the heroic rabbit captain of the spaceship “Righteous Indignation”; Jenny, an “Aldebaran cat” and telepath; Dead-Eye Duck, a four-armed mallard; Willy, a boy from Earth who has replaced their engineer; and Blinky, a one-eyed android. As in the TV series, the characters must prevent the Toad Empire from conquering alien planets and enslaving their inhabitants; to do so, they must fight their way through an army of brainwashed toads to destroy their evil leader, a computer program named “Complex,” and free the “Interplanetary Life Force.” Enemies include Al Negator, Toadborg, Total Terror Toad, a “cyborg spider,” various types of Toad stormtroopers, the Toad Air Marshal, and “Complex-2-Go,” who appeared in both the comics and the animated series.
