Bubsy 3D

Bubsy 3D

Bubsy 3D is the fourth Bubsy game and the only title in 3D; the game was released in 1996 for the PlayStation video game console. It is a sequel to the original in terms of story and is set on the Woolies' home planet, Rayon. Bubsy 3D has 16 main levels and two boss levels. The main character's goal is to defeat the two queens of Rayon, Poly and Esther. The player can collect both rockets and atoms to eventually escape from the planet Rayon. The graphics are very simple even for the time, with a dense fog covering the levels throughout the game. Bubsy speaks actively throughout the game, depending on what actions the player performs. Planned releases for the Sega 32X and the Sega Saturn were canceled. Bubsy 3D was criticized by reviewers for its confusing controls and camera perspective. It was featured at Seanbaby's EGM Crapstravaganza: The 20 Worst Games of All Time as well as being ranked eighth on GameTrailers Top 10 Best and Worst Games of 2006, where it was called "a terrible, terrible clone".
