Bomberman: Party Edition

Bomberman: Party Edition

Bomberman Party Edition, known as Bomberman in Japan and Europe, is a PlayStation version of the 1983 game Bomberman. In addition to the old graphics for the single player mode, there is an option for improved graphics. In this version there is also the Battle mode with 8 tracks and 3 levels per track. The single player mode is very similar to the 1983 version of Bomberman. The player controls the titular Bomberman in a vast area full of destructible and non-destructible blocks. The blocks can be destroyed with bombs and may contain a power-up that increases Bomberman's running speed, the size of bomb explosions, the number of bombs that can be placed, or the ability to explode your bombs with the press of a button or run through walls or bombs. Some power-ups are time-limited, making Bomberman immune to bombs or monsters. The objective of each level is to destroy each monster and then find the door located under a random block. After a few levels, the player can play a bonus level. The player is invincible, and an endless stream of monsters must be destroyed by the player. The goal is to collect as many points until you get a bonus life. Similar to Super Bomberman, there are a number of level themes in the single player mode.
