Blue Lightning

Blue Lightning

Blue Lightning, a launch title for the Lynx, is an arcade flight game based heavily on After Burner. The player controls the prototype of the Blue Lightning jet in battle against the enemy. The game consists of nine missions with different objectives. These range from shooting down enemy aircraft to taking out tanks, ships and radar installations. In a courier mission, documents have to be delivered by landing at a specific airfield. If you successfully complete a mission, you will receive a password. The gameplay is observed from the back of the Blue Flash. Due to the strong arcade focus, there is no danger of stalling or even crashing to the ground. However, it is possible to crash into air or ground targets. The Blue Lightning is armed with a cannon with unlimited ammunition and 40 missiles. The on-board computer automatically searches for missiles for enemy targets, while the cannon must of course be aimed manually. The Blue Lightning is also equipped with an afterburner: When you activate it, the plane goes to top speed for ten seconds so that you can catch up with enemy targets that have escaped you. After the mission, it takes another ten seconds to recharge. The plane can also perform a barrel roll, which is useful for deflecting enemy missiles.
