Block'hood

Block'hood

Block'hood is a neighborhood building simulation that celebrates the diversity and experimentation of cities and the unique ecosystems within them. Aspiring urban planners have access to more than 90 building blocks that they can arrange and combine to create unique neighborhoods and discover the impact of their designs. The game is a story of ecology and understanding, as additional resources are always needed to unlock new blocks, configurations and combinations to create more prosperous neighborhoods. Throughout the design process, players must prevent the deterioration of their city blocks by making sure that the resources of each unit don't run out and become a burden for the complementary units around them. Imagine your neighborhood: Consider what blocks are necessary for your neighborhood to thrive. With a growing library of over 90 blocks, the sky's the limit. Create resources: Each block you create has inputs and outputs. By understanding how each block depends on other blocks, you can build a productive network. Optimize your production and generate abundant resources for the dozens of intertwined symbiotic relationships in your neighborhood. Avoid decay: If blocks do not receive the inputs they need, they will decay over time and slowly be abandoned or destroyed. Once a block is abandoned or destroyed, you must remove it and prevent it from further decaying other blocks. Be careful, because the careless search for a utopian neighborhood can lead to a dystopia. Unique modes: neighborhood designers can play in sandbox and challenge modes. Educational and research modes are planned for classroom use.
