Beacon

Beacon

Beacon is an action roguelike with a science fiction theme. As a top-down shooter, you'll fight your way through a randomly generated enemy world, while trying to locate your distress beacon and escape from the planet where your ship crashed. As you make your way through the areas, you'll not only find weapons and items to help you, but you'll also collect DNA from the enemies you defeat. Then, when you inevitably die, you'll have the option to combine the collected DNA with your own, giving you different stats and potentially game-changing physical mutations for your next run. Beacon bridges the gap between fast-paced, frenetic action and long-term strategy, where your actions can be felt and built upon hours later.

Story

You step out of the narrow capsule, confused and blinking. As your vision clears, a bleak sight opens up to you. The burning wreckage of your ship - your home - lies cruelly strewn across the surface of an alien landscape. You must have hit the ground hard. You dig through the remains of the ship, looking for answers, a weapon, a radio. Instead, you find a dead body. Your dead body. Well, you think, at least the clone bay still works. Unfortunately, that seems to be all it can do. If you want to get off this planet, you have to explore. You have to find equipment. You need to build a beacon. The woods look hostile, but you have your weapon. And if the worst happens, at least the clone bay still works.
