Bases Loaded

Bases Loaded

Bases Loaded is a baseball game that was released in 1987 for arcade and the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was developed by Jaleco and TOSE and was the first installment of the Bases Loaded series, which was followed by seven sequels for three generations of consoles. The game tried to focus on the confrontation between the pitcher and the batter, placing emphasis on the exchange of blows between the two. Unfortunately, this made the perspective quite limited when it came to determining where to hit the ball or where the ball was during a pitch.

Story

Bases Loaded introduced a unique representation of the batter-pitcher match that matched the typical views from television coverage of baseball. This gave the player a more realistic feel and made Bases Loaded one of the most popular baseball games for the early NES. The league was made up of fictional teams due to the difficulty of obtaining a license from the MBA, and included 12 American cities with unique players on each team. A unique feature of the game was that each team had a batter who would rush the mound when provoked by the pitcher.
